Several local seniors to play in Georgia Northwest Bowl III all star game

Some select senior football players from the four local high school football programs will participate in Georgia Northwest Bowl III at McEachern High School in Powder Springs.

Georgia Northwest Bowl III is part of a triple-header of high school football all-star games to be played at McEachern December 19. The first-ever Georgia Southwest Bowl (9am) and Cobb Senior Bowl IX (12:30pm) will precede the Georgia Northwest Bowl at 4pm.

The event is presented by American Youth Council, Inc. For the Georgia Northwest Bowl, players were divided into two competing squads — the Giants and the Titans. All of the local selections are currently assigned to the Giants. The local players include: Torrey Hale, Adairsville

Colin McIntosh, Cass

Parker Roberson, Cartersville

John Scifers, Woodland

Other schools represented by the Giants team in the Georgia Northwest Bowl include: Calhoun, Chattooga, Christian Heritage, Coosa, Dalton, Darlington, East Paulding, Hiram, North Paulding, Northwest Whitfield, Paulding Co., Ringgold, Rome, Sonoraville, South Paulding, and Trion.

The Titans team is comprised of select players from the following schools: Alexander, Bremen, Bowdon, Carrollton, Chapel Hill, Douglas Co., Langston Hughes, Lithia Springs, New Manchester, Mt. Zion-Carroll, Temple, Villa Rica, Westlake, and Whitefield Academy.

Practices begin December 12 for the all-star game.

Tickets are good for the entire triple header and are $10 at the gate.
