Lady Canes fall to Sonoraville at tourney

The Cartersville Lady Canes lost to Sonoraville Tuesday (Nov. 24), 56-36, at the Pepperell Thanksgiving Tournament in Lindale.

The Lady Phoenix raced to a fast start, outscoring the Lady Canes 12-4 and 15-11 in the first two quarters for a 27-15 lead at halftime. Sonoraville (3-0) pushed their advantage to 45-27 after three quarters.

The loss dropped Cartersville to 1-1 on the year.

The Lady Canes are scheduled to host Ridgeland Tuesday (Dec. 1) and travel to Pickens on Friday (Dec. 4). Both are Region 7-AAAA contests.
