Hurricane grapplers start season with three wins at Marlow Duals


The Cartersville High School wrestling team opened the 2015-16 season by going 3-2 at the Dennis Marlow Duals at Banks County High School in Homer, GA on Saturday. The Purple Hurricanes had victories over Gainesville, Fayette County, and East Jackson, but fell in decisions to Banks County and Clarke Central. Ryan Hardesty went 5-0 with four pins in the heavyweight class to claim an individual tournament championship. Braden Durocher went 4-1 with one pin in the 106 weight class to finish second in his division. David Mejia, Robby Earick, and Jonathan De La Cruz were each 3-2 for the event and took third place finishes in their respective weight classes.


The Canes travel to Ringgold High School Saturday, Nov. 21 for the Tri-State Classic.
