Cartersville 4th, Adairsville 12th at GHSA state cheerleading championships

The Cartersville High School competition cheerleaders placed fourth in Class AAAA and Adairsville finished 12th in Class AAA Saturday at the state cheerleading championships in Columbus.


Adairsville earned its position in the state finals by qualifying with a fourth place finish at the Region 6AAA meet Saturday, Nov. 7 and a top eight finish during sectionals Friday at Columbus Civic Center.


The Lady Tigers, under head coach Kaylie Noe, have now qualified for the state meet four years in a row and the state finals each of the last two seasons.


Pierce County won the Class AAA title, followed by Cedartown, Southeast Bulloch, Central-Carrollton, and Calhoun. Cartersville, the defending state champs in Class AAAA under head coach Kelly Hopkins, earned their spot in Saturday’s finals by winning the Region 7AAAA championship on Saturday, Nov. 7. It was the seventh consecutive region title for the Lady Canes.


Cartersville placed fourth in Saturday's state finals at Columbus Civic Center behind Carrollton, Whitewater, and Pike County.
