NFL veteran and former Cane, Fluellen, back contributing for Lions
Released by the Buffalo Bills in early October, former Cartersville Hurricane, Andre Fluellen, has rejoined the Detroit Lions and is already contributing.
The Lions signed Fluellen for the ninth time in his eight-year NFL career October 7 to help shore up an injury plagued defensive line. The 30-year-old defensive tackle made a pair of stops this week in the Lions 37-34 victory over the Chicago Bears. Fluellen was originally drafted by the Lions in 2008 out of Florida State. He played 2008-11 for Detroit before moving briefly to the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears. In 2012 he re-signed with the Lions and played in 15 games over the next two seasons through multiple contracts. He had signed with the Buffalo Bills for the 2015 season, but had not made a game appearance before being released and picked up once again by Detroit.
Fluellen is part of the many collegiate and professional athletes listed on Bartow Sports Zone's Athletes Beyond Bartow page.
