Local college football player update for October 10
Updates on local collegiate athletes currently participating in college football.

Here are the updates on games of Saturday, October 10:
Chaz Rokins -- Maryville College (So., Cass HS) had 18 carries for 80 yards that included a long run of 11 yards as the Scots suffered their first loss of the season 24-7 at North Carolina Wesleyan and slipped to 4-1.
Da’Kelin Wells -- Maryville College (So., Cass HS) Has been a regular starter at cornerback. 2 tackles in Scots’ loss at North Carolina Wesleyan.
Isaiah Ross -- Point University (So. Woodland HS) … had 3 tackles, including one for loss in a 56-17 loss at Kennesaw State.
Justin Floyd -- Furman University (R-Sr., Cartersville HS) Starter at LG for the Paladins who had a three game winning streak snapped by Chattanooga, 31-3. Furman fell to 3-3. Furman totaled 235 of offense including 59 yards rushing. Furman’s next game is at home October 24 vs. The Citadel.
Austin Harrell -- The Citadel (R-Jr., Adairsville HS) .. Defensive lineman has 2 solo and 5 assists for the season. Appeared in 39-12 win over Wofford Saturday. The Bulldogs are 3-2 on the season and next play at Samford Saturday, Oct. 17.
Collin Barber -- University of Georgia (Sr., Cartersville HS) 7 punts for a 42.9 yard average. He had a long punt of 52 yards and one touchback.
Tarris Batiste -- Georgia State University (Sr., Cass HS) had 3 tackles and returned an interception 17 yards in a 37-3 loss to Appalachian State at the Georgia Dome.
Hayes Linn -- Air Force Academy (Jr., Cartersville HS) Saw action at free safety for the Falcons in a 31-17 win over Wyoming Saturday night… Air Force improved to 3-2 on the season. Linn now has 7 tackles and 1 pass break up and has been used both in reserve and as a starter.
Jamar Posey -- Birmingham Southern (Jr., Woodland HS) … offensive lineman saw action in the Panthers 21-16 loss at Hendrix in Arkansas. It was BSU’s third straight loss.
Brandon Thompson -- Tusculum (R-Jr. Woodland HS) saw action for the third straight week in a 26-17 Homecoming victory over Wingate. The Pioneers improved to 3-3.
Quadre Allen -- Tusculum (R-Fr.) .. had 3 tackles in the Pioneers win over Wingate.
