Woodland Middle leads the way at Wingfoot XC Classic

Woodland Middle School’s girls and boys cross country teams finished first among competiting middle school teams Saturday at the Wingfoot Cross Country Classic at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville. The two-mile middle school division race included 338 girls and 410 boys individual runners. Several teams representing their respective middle schools competed along with middle school running clubs and unattached middle school runners. A pair of middle school running clubs - Great Strides and Alpha Crush Running Club - placed ahead of WMS girls, but the middle school Lady Wildcats were low scorers among at least thirteen school teams.

The Woodland Middle boys team finished just ahead of Cartersville Middle School and Lovett. There were 18 middle school teams represented.
