Woodland cross country teams compete at Darlington XC Festival
The Woodland girls cross country team placed fourth at the Darlington Cross Country Festival Saturday. Darlington won their own event by 18-points over Decatur. Norcross finished third in the 18 team event.
Lindsay Scifers of Woodland finished the race in 20:42.58, just behind winner Stephanie Ward of Darlington, Gabrielle Gusmerotti of Norcross, and Elizabeth Rice of Kennesaw Mountain.
Cheyenne Spinks was eighth overall for Woodland in 21:06.62. She was followed by teammates Elizabeth Roberson (19th), Casey Bolan (21st), Karla Alves (53rd), McKaylie Bowles (59th), and Makenna Eskew (62nd)
The Woodland boys placed third in a field of 17 teams at Darlington. Kennesaw Mountain won the boys' high school event, followed by Etowah, and Woodland.
Jonathan Holloway placed 11th overall for Woodland. Jacob Glitz was 16th, Dustin Kiel 18th, and Julian Rocket was 19th. Levi Brandenburg, Noah Warren, and Heath Tyree round of the Woodland boys team finishes.
Local high school teams will compete for the Bartow County Championship Tuesday at Dellinger Park.
