Lady Eagles pound North Cobb Christian

Excel Christian Academy softball won at North Cobb Christian Monday night, 18-3. Brighton McCollum hit a grand slam and a 3-run homer for 7 RBI to lead the Lady Eagles offensive barrage.

"It was Brighton's birthday," said coach Eric Harris. "The birthday girl had a big game."

Taylor Gibson earned the pitching victory in the circle. She tossed a 4-inning complete game and recorded 11 strikeouts.

Gibson and McCollum each added three hit performances at the plate for ECA. Whitney Harris and Lindsay Mauldin each contributed two hits apiece.

The Lady Eagles hit the diamond again Thursday at Mount Pisgah.
