Three local athletes at girls state track and field championship in Albany

The 2015 GHSA Girls Track and Field State Championships begin today (May 7) through May 9 in Albany.

Local state qualifiers include a pair of athletes from Adairsville High School and one from Cartersville High School.

Josie Summerville and Emily Sexauer will represent the Tigers. Summerville will compete in the shot put. She qualified with a throw of 32 feet, 2 inches. Teammate, Emily Sexauer qualified for the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:48.87.

Anna Hightower will represent the Lady ‘Canes in the state pole vault finals. She qualified with a vault of 11 feet.

The GHSA Track and Field State Championships are being held at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany.
