The Lady Tigers scored nine runs on ten hits, and pitcher Paislee Rooks limited the Lady Mustangs to only one run on five hits and two walks Wednesday night as Adairsville won at Kennesaw Mountain, 9-1.

Cartersville volleyball defeated North Cobb Christian and Cedartown in straight sets Tuesday night at the Storm Center, improving to 13-1 on the season.

Adairsville volleyball swept two matches on Tuesday night at Ridgeland, defeating Dade County in three sets (25-20, 16-25, 16-14) and winning two straight sets with Ridgeland (25-20, 25-22).

All four local high school softball teams were in action with region games on Tuesday, August 25. Cartersville and Woodland collected wins. Cass and Adairsville suffered losses.

PGA Champions Tour competitors and members at Cartersville Country Club -- Jason Bohn and Boo Weekley -- had successful weeks in Canada.
